Position Summary:

Performs routine technical nursing duties and assists with other related duties involved in providing patient care. Works under the direction of the physician and supervision of Director of Nursing.

Requirements Required:

  • Graduate from a State approved School of Vocational Nursing or higher, with current Certification or Registration
  • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the State of Texas

          Patient Services Specialist

          Location: Uvalde

          Position Summary:

          This position performs registration of patients seeking services from CHDI and is responsible for greeting, screening, and directing patients to appropriate services. Position performs routine clerical duties following established procedures.

          Qualifications Required:

          • High school diploma or GED required.
          • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
          • At least one-year of experience answering telephone and working with the public.
          • Computer literacy preferred.

            Care Coordinator

            Location: Uvalde

            Position Summary:

            Responsible for deliberately organizing patient care activities and sharing information among all of the participants concerned with a patient’s care to achieve safer and more effective care. The main goal of care coordination is to meet patients’ needs and preferences in the delivery of high-quality, high-value health care. The care coordinator has regular contact with patients and documents all activities in the patient’s electronic health record in order to track treatment adherence and response. The care coordinator promotes effective education, self-management support, and timely healthcare delivery to achieve optimal quality outcomes.

             

            Requirements Required:

            • Licensed Vocational Nurse or a Certified Medical Assistant.

                  Facility Manager

                  Position Summary:

                  Performs routine maintenance and inspections to ensure safety and cleanliness of the agency’s facilities.

                  Requirements Required:

                  • Requires intermittent sitting, kneeling, bending, walking, climbing, lifting, and standing.

                  Revenue Cycle Specialist

                  Position Summary:

                  Processes patient claims and payments for third party payers and self-pay accounts.  Assists with inquiries regarding client accounts.

                  Requirements Required:

                  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT knowledge.
                  • Experience in processing EOB’s, post payments, and adjustments.
                  • Maintains expert knowledge of billing work-flow and optimizes use of available technology.
                  • Responsible for helping review insurance denials related to billing

                  Community Health Worker

                  Position Summary:

                  Responsible for planning, development and implementation of all Community Health Development, Inc.’s marketing strategies, communications, legislative outreach, and public relations activities, both external and internal.

                  Requirements Required:

                  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or public relations.
                  • College education may be substituted for three years of experience in a related field.
                  • Experience working with media and public relations projects

                  Qualification Required:

                  • Ability to create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations
                  • Capability to arrange and support marketing day-to-day operations including media, campaigns, special events, and projects.
                  • Must be able to maintain strong community outreach and public relation efforts.
                  Central Supply Technician

                  Location: Uvalde

                  Position Summary:

                  Responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the agency.

                  Requirements Required:

                  • Works with suppliers and vendors to secure services and equipment.
                  • Maintains up to date vendor/supplier lists
                  • Places Purchases Order requests to replenish inventory
                  • Reviews bids/quotes and submits to supervisor for approval.
                  • Purchases orders and equipment from supplier upon PO approval
                  • Reconciles deliveries against purchase orders and invoices
                  • Ensures timely delivery of supplies to the various departments.
                  • Maintains proper inventory levels
                  • Performs monthly inventory counts and submits report to supervisor.
                  • Maintain supervisor informed of inventory levels, supplier delays and/or issues.
                  • Maintains inventory data in the electronic inventory system.

                  Qualifications Required:

                  • Must be proficient in Microsoft excel and inventory software

                  Certified Medical Coder

                  Location: Uvalde

                  Position Summary:

                  Responsible for reviewing medical documentation ensuring accurate diagnosis and procedure codes. Performs audits on medical records to assess accuracy and completeness of documentation, adherence to coding rules and regulations, and compliance with reimbursement requirements.  Serves as expert resource regarding claims issues related to coding, denials,  and insurance eligibility.

                  • Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes.
                  • Follows up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear.
                  • Communicates with other clinical staff regarding documentation.
                  • Communicates and works with Revenue Cycle department to resolve billing issues.
                  • Researches and analyzes data needs for reimbursement.
                  • Ensure that all codes are current and active.
                  • Analyzes medical records and identifies documentation deficiencies.
                  • Reviews and verifies documentation supports diagnoses, procedures, and treatment results.
                  • Identifies diagnostic and procedural information.
                  • Assigns codes for reimbursements, research and compliance with regulatory requirements utilizing guidelines.
                  • Follows coding conventions. Serves as coding consultant to providers.
                  • Identifies discrepancies, potential quality of care, and billing issues.
                  • Researches, analyzes, recommends, and facilitates plan of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors.

                   Requirements Required:

                  • Associate degree in medical coding or successful completion of a certification program.
                  • Ability to work flexible hours or change schedule as necessary.
                  • 2+ years of work experience as a medical coder.

                  Accountant

                  Location: Uvalde

                  Position Summary:

                  Performs administrative and advanced professional accounting work.  Responsible for the overall financial operation of the center.  Monitors and maintains control of financial records, and transactions for accountability.  Supervises billing department.  Prepares annual budget.  Develops, administers, and monitors all accounting policies and procedures.  Prepare monthly financial status reports for the Board of Directors.

                   Requirements Required:

                  • Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local registration relating to Human Resources, i.e. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, ADA, FMLA.
                  • Experience in implanting training.
                  • Generates quarterly 941 Tax Report, TEC quarterly report and DFAFS reports.
                  • Develops and maintains a list of job descriptions for the Agency.
                  • Maintains appropriate I-9 record retention.
                  • Experience in reconciling monthly bank statements
                  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.

                   Qualifications Required:

                  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in accounting.
                  • Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting or governmental agency budgeting controls preferred.
                  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Office 365.
                  • Experience in reviewing and processing bi-weekly payroll.

                  Certified Fitness Trainer

                  Location: Uvalde

                  Position Summary:

                  Fitness trainers instruct individuals about exercise activities that improve strength, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility. They meet with members to understand the member’s personal fitness goals, then develop an exercise program, tailoring workouts to member needs. They demonstrate movements, ask clients to repeat them while offering tips on improving form, and motivate members to return to classes on a regular schedule so physical conditioning can continue steadily. The Fitness Trainers explain safety rules and educate members on the proper use of exercise equipment. They may also give information on nutrition, weight control, and general lifestyle changes.

                   Requirements Required:

                  • Strong working knowledge of fitness training and exercises
                  • Positive attitude and collaborative team player.
                  • Possess excellent customer service skills.

                   Qualifications Required:

                  • Accredited personal training certification
                  • Displays the ability to work independently.
                  • Must be CPR Certified ( American Heart Association)
                  • Excellent social, verbal, and communication skills
                  • 1 year of fitness training experience (preferred)
                  Registered Dental Hygienist

                  Location: Uvalde and Leakey

                  Position Summary:

                  The direct provision of oral hygiene and appropriate preventive services to dental patients of the agency.  The Registered Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for providing appropriate oral health information to individuals and groups.

                   Requirements Required:

                  • Possesses a current, valid license as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Texas and provide Basic Life Support as required by the American Heart Association.
                  • Additional expertise acquired through practice or exposure to various conditions, beyond the formal knowledge (or on the job training), allows employees to perform more advanced techniques
                  • Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices, typically acquired through continuing medical education
                  • Ability to work flexible hours or change schedule as necessary.

                   Qualifications Required:

                  • Displays basic organizational skills, typically to organize own work
                  • Displays ability to works independently and as part of a team

                  Registered Dental Assistant

                  Location: Uvalde

                  Position Summary:

                  Performs routine chair-side dental assisting duties and other related duties involved in providing oral health patient care in one of the Agency’s primary health care clinics.  Works under the direction of agency’s dentist(s), registered dental hygienist(s) and the supervision of the Chief Dental Officer.  The dental assistant will provide services directed toward the restoration of health and wellness, health promotion and disease prevention.

                  Requirements Required:

                  • Certified by the State of Texas as a Registered Dental Assistant.
                  • Maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners for Registered Dental Assistants licensure and provider Basic Life Support as required by the American Heart Association.
                  • Experience in the sterility of all reusable dental instruments, devices and equipment in accordance with Dental Department directive and protocol.
                  • Experience in preparing the patient for treatment including the identification of the chief complaint, the taking and recording of vital signs, weight, temperature, blood pressure, glucose levels, etc., and ensures smooth patient flow throughout the center.
                  • Knowledge of modern dental material, their storage, handling and applications.
                  • Ability to work flexible hours or change schedule as necessary.

                   Qualifications Required:

                  • Bilingual preferred.
